Although he did not perform, he was spotted during Earl Sweatshirt’s set, in the photo pit for Pusha T (at which time i showed him this pic and got an indifferent reaction along with a fist knock), and here during Trash Talk’s early afternoon set. I was in the crowd head banging to Trash Talk when i noticed Tyler the Creator leap from the stage, luckily i caught him mid-flight. Jimmy Johnson (of The Swampers) – Live @ SXSW Stage on 6th, Austin TX 2013. Concert photography by Scott Dudelson. It doesn’t get more influential than this guy. Jimmy Johnson was the anchor of the legendary Muscle Shoals Rhythm section that defined the Muscle Shoals sound of the mid 60′s and the music of Arthea Franklin, Wilson Pickett and others. The backing band – The Swampers – made a rare reunion performance at SXSW in support of a new documentary about the band. Another fun fact: Jimmy Johnson also engineered Sticky Fingers by the Rolling Stones.
